Communication Is A Virus - Designs

To decide on the typefaces to use consistently through what we do, Dom experimented with this. For the main logo we used Cooper Std, but found that for the rest of the designs as well it didn't really work that well.

He experimented with different ones until he found the one that was most legibly and worked the best fitting in with the kind of designs we are looking to result with.

The typeface decided on to use for the body copy in the designs is Georgia.

Me and Lisa came up with the idea of having a hot dog book after doing the screen print induction here at Blenheim as we think it is an interesting type of media, and will allow us to include more information within it and is something we could possibly leave around places for people to pick up.

Before we started to design the hotdog book, we first needed to come up with the body copy which we will use within it. This will also be used across everything we do.

The copy that we ended up with, and decided to use is:
"The day to do something new to you.
   - break from your routine and make your day.
Spread the word.
   - get everyone you know, colleagues, friends, family to get involved.
Share ideas.
   - anything counts, no matter how big or small.
Get involved.
   - do something new to you on Do Day.
Share your experience.
   - let us know what you get up to and even share a photo if you like."

We decided to keep it simple and basically straight to the point with bullet points so that it is straightforward what it is about, and no one will be left questioning it. It explains step by step what you would need to do to get involved. As we worked on the designs and discussed more with Matt and Dom, certain things within the body copy was edited and what not, as well as other little elements added to make it more effective.

To get an idea on how to have the layout of the hotdog books, we first folded a few mock ups and drew on possibilities, and then worked from this to then produce the actual designs.

The first initial design of the hotdog book once printed then looked like this:

Dom and Matt worked on and experimented with the development of the posters for us to use, as well as some stickers and flyers.

Lisa also did badges.
